Releasing Claustrophobia with some unexpected benefits

Maya, a homemaker, stays in a joint family and feels a bit trapped and frustrated, unable to move out to her own place. She experienced pain in her legs, especially at night. She also felt claustrophobic and had a fear of putting her head under water.

The client regressed into a past life of a deaf and dumb boy. The boy felt trapped in his mind, unable to hear or speak. He felt invisible to his family. Experiences with his family, especially the stern father, kept leading to catharsis for the client.  On growing up, he married and had a happy married life. At some stage, the family went on a picnic, and he found himself at the edge of a hollow made of rocks and filled with clear water. The man fell into the water, gasping and choking and died.

In a subsequent session, the client had subconscious memory of being a young woman happily married.  The peaceful commune was attacked, and she and several other women were dragged by some primitive soldiers through a narrow opening in the wall and imprisoned in a very dark, damp cave. The client felt very fearful. She and other women could not escape and died in the cave as prisoners.

Outcome:

The client lost her fear of enclosed spaces - claustrophobia, and the recurrent pain in her leg also disappeared. Dealing with the fear of water would need further sessions.
